How Many Days Do You Need in Turkey for Dental Implants?

The short answer

Most patients need two separate trips to Turkey for dental implants: around

5-7 days for the first visit and 5-7 days for the second, separated by

3-6 months of healing. Some cases can be completed faster, and a small number

of patients qualify for same-day implants, but the standard plan is two visits.

Why two visits?

A dental implant is a titanium post placed into the jawbone. It only becomes

stable once the bone grows around it — a process called osseointegration.

That takes three to six months and cannot be safely rushed. The permanent crown

is fitted after that, which is why the treatment splits naturally into two trips.

First visit: 5-7 days

Some patients receive a temporary tooth during this visit so they are not left

with a visible gap.

Second visit: 5-7 days

Once healing is confirmed, the second trip covers the abutment, impressions,

fabrication of the crown and final fitting, with time for adjustments.

Can it be done in one trip?

Sometimes. Immediate loading — placing the implant and a temporary tooth in

the same appointment — is possible when bone quality and stability allow it.

Whether you qualify can only be determined from a CT scan and examination, not

in advance online. Even then, the permanent restoration is usually fitted later.

What about All-on-4 and All-on-6?

Full-arch treatment follows the same two-visit logic, but the visits are a

little longer: roughly 7-10 days for surgery and fixed temporary teeth, then

about a week for the final prosthesis.

Book a flexible return ticket for the first visit in case a review appointment is added

Allow at least one clear day between your last appointment and your flight

Avoid planning strenuous activity or diving in the days after surgery

It is usually advised to wait a few days so any swelling and bleeding settle and

your dentist can check healing. Follow the advice you are given at discharge.

What if I cannot return for the second visit?

Discuss this before treatment starts. In some cases the final restoration can be

coordinated with a dentist in your own country, but this must be planned in advance.

Do I need to stay in İzmir the whole time?

Between appointments you are generally free to move around. Stay reachable and

within travelling distance of the clinic in case a review is needed.
